ABOUT

US

The Franciscan Mystery Play was written and directed by Father Francis Pompei, OFM, a Franciscan Friar from Holy Name Province, the Mystery Players are made up of 20 teenagers and 5 adults. Founded in 2005, it stands as one of the only remaining from the original 12 ministries of its kind around the United States. Based out of Ste. Marie Parish in Manchester, NH, it is performed by high schoolers from various schools in the area. Directors Mari-Briege Nalette and Pat Dunn assist the students in this dramatic presentation of the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary.

"The Sorrowful Mysteries" calls for no speaking parts. Through the use of special lighting, inspirational music, drama, and soul-searching meditations, a person is able to get in touch with themselves, their goodness, struggles, and their sins.  Then, in a very unique way it becomes a prayerful vehicle for the Lord's spirit to Forgive, Renew and especially Heal.

The Franciscan Mystery Players travel from parish to parish every Friday in Lent to perform for anyone wanting to attend.

We hope you will join us for our next performance, or if you are a high schooler, please consider joining our group!
